1. Digital flightdeck: based on Honeywell Primus 2000 system architecture with five large EFIS displays, digital EID, autothrottle, dual FMZ-2000 flight management systems, and more. Optional Flight Dynamics HGS-2850 Head-up Guidance System.
2. Supercritical wing: computer-designed, Mach-optimized profile for minimum transonic drag.
3. High-lift devices: full span slats plus double-slotted Fowler flaps provide exceptional close-in agility.
4. New TFE731-60 turbofans, digitally controlled, produce 15,000 lb of thrust. Effective thrust reverser on center engine.
5. Big inside, compact outside: Dassault's unique trijet configuration allows a large widebody cabin with surprisingly trim external dimensions, offering a modest ramp image.
6. Flight controls are triply redundant, powered by two independent hydraulic systems with direct mechanical backup.
7. Area ruling sculpts the aft fuselage shape to reduce drag and noise at high Mach numbers.
8. Large baggage compartment: loaded externally, but accessible in flight.
9. Trijet configuration gives versatile airfield performance while allowing direct overwater flights within airline safety standards.
